Each week, TCPalm recognizes outstanding athletes from the local community through their Athlete of the Week program. This week’s nominees showcased exceptional performances in various sports. In baseball, Dean Buxton of Master’s Academy pitched a two-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts and one walk while also contributing offensively. Talen Perez of Vero Beach stood out in boys lacrosse with seven goals in a regional quarterfinal win, while Kenan Willard of Vero Beach excelled in boys track and field capturing first in multiple events.

In flag football, Dakota Moberg of Martin County shone with four total touchdowns in a regional semifinal win. Jazmyn Morris of Vero Beach dazzled in girls lacrosse with a stellar performance, and Addison Trotter of Master’s Academy impressed in girls tennis. Nyla Christian of Vero Beach excelled in girls track and field, and Hailey Brereton of St. Lucie West Centennial stood out in softball with a perfect game and multiple wins.
