Olivia Maurais and Asher Michel, both from the Winter Park Competition Center, have been selected to compete at the Freestyle Junior World Ski Championships in Valmalenco, Italy. They will be representing the Stifel U.S. Freestyle Ski Team and U.S. Ski & Snowboard at this prestigious event that will take place from April 3-6 at the Chiesa Resort.

Asher Michel has had a successful season so far, winning gold in dual moguls at the NorAm Cup at Stratton Mountain Resort on March 2. He also won gold in team dual moguls race at the Winter Park Competition Center in 2023 and placed third in moguls at that same competition center. Michel is looking forward to making his mark on the international stage and bringing home more accolades for himself and his team.

Olivia Maurais has also had a strong season, competing in multiple NorAm and World Cup events. She placed ninth in moguls at the U.S. Freestyle National Championships and fifth in moguls at the NorAm Cup at Deer Valley Resort. Maurais showcased her skills at Winter Park Resort, winning third place in front of a home crowd, which gave her confidence to perform well on an international stage. She is determined to make a name for herself on the global skiing scene and bring glory to her country of origin.

Both Michel and Maurais have been preparing diligently for this upcoming championships, working hard every day to perfect their craft. Their performances will be closely watched by fans and competitors alike as they look to make their mark on history by bringing home more accolades for themselves and their team
