Joey Logano finished in second place at Richmond Raceway, marking his season-best performance. Kyle Larson had a strong start by leading 144 of the first 150 laps, but ultimately finished in third place. Martin Truex Jr., who led 228 of the 407 laps, expressed disappointment at being beaten out by Hamlin in the pits. The race was notable for starting with teams on wet weather tires due to rain before changing to slick tires.
Hamlin’s victory marked the 10th win for Joe Gibbs Racing during the last 16 Cup races at Richmond, showcasing their dominance at the track. Chandler Smith also won Saturday’s Xfinity race at the same location, completing a weekend sweep for JGR. The series will race next at Martinsville Speedway on April 7, airing on FS1 at 3 p.m. ET.
