In a recent interview with GQ, comedian Jerry Seinfeld expressed his thoughts on the current state of the movie business. He described it as being “over” due to the confusion and uncertainty experienced by those in the industry. Despite this, Seinfeld did not explicitly say that the movie business is over, but he acknowledged that its cultural significance has waned.

Seinfeld was discussing his upcoming film, Unfrosted, which will be released on Netflix next month. This project marks his directorial debut and he expressed his surprise at the seriousness with which people in the film industry approach their work. However, Seinfeld noted that movies are no longer central to social and cultural discussion as people are constantly bombarded with content and struggle to keep up with the volume of entertainment available.

The story of Unfrosted tells of the rivalry between Kellogg’s and Post in 1963 as they compete to create a groundbreaking breakfast pastry. The film promises to be a whimsical tale of ambition, betrayal, and quirky characters set against the backdrop of the cereal industry. In addition to Seinfeld, the movie features an all-star cast including Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer, Max Greenfield, Christian Slater, Sarah Cooper, and Bill Burr.

Unfrosted premieres on Netflix on May 3rd and promises to offer a fresh perspective on the ever-evolving world of movies and entertainment.
