The University of Jamestown baseball team played a thrilling game against Northwestern College on April 6 at Jack Brown Stadium. Despite being limited to just three hits, Triston Madison hit a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Jimmies a 2-1 victory. This crucial hit came after Jett Nelson launched a dropped fly ball into right field, setting up Madison’s game-winning home run.

On the pitching side, Northwestern’s Drew Dykstra had an impressive performance, giving up two runs (one earned) and striking out nine in six plus innings. In contrast, Jamestown’s starter Avery Liestman pitched a complete game, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out three. Jamestown’s hits in the game came from Ryan Muizelaar, Jackson Bonneville, and Julian Sansores, contributing to their decisive win.

Northwestern managed to break the deadlock in the sixth inning with a solo home run from Mason Porepp, taking a 1-0 lead. However, Jamestown bounced back strongly in the seventh inning, ultimately securing their victory with Triston Madison’s dramatic home run over the right field wall.
