Indonesia is set to host the world artistic gymnastics championships for the first time in 2025. The event will take place in Jakarta from October 19-25, with a population of about 280 million. Previously, Indonesia hosted the 2018 Asian Games, which included gymnastics competitions held in a hall within the Jakarta International Expo complex. The venue for the 2025 World Gymnastics Championships is listed as IMS Arena.
The International Gymnastics Federation has not announced the full schedule for the championships, but it is expected to be a seven-day event. Typically, worlds held after an Olympic year do not include the men’s and women’s team events. Previous worlds that included team events were longer in duration than one week. Antwerp, Belgium hosted the last year’s worlds, while the 2026 World Championships were awarded to Rotterdam, Netherlands, and the 2027 Worlds to Chengdu, China.
Simone Biles recently shared her journey of overcoming the twisties to return to the top of gymnastics. Her perseverance and dedication to the sport have inspired many and she continues to be a role model for gymnasts around the world.
