The Italian government has reaffirmed its condemnation of Iranian attacks against Israel. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed strong concern about the destabilization of the region and emphasized the importance of working to prevent it.

In response to the attack, Meloni changed her agenda and suspended some scheduled commitments, including a visit to Vinitaly in Verona tomorrow. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani also commented on the situation, urging caution and avoiding escalating the conflict further.

Tajani praised Israel’s reaction to the attack, which was supported by its allies, ensuring no immediate risk to Italians. He condemned the attack and emphasized the need for all parties to act prudently. The Italian government’s objective is to prevent escalation and promote reasonableness among the contenders.

Tajani outlined a series of meetings and actions planned in response to the situation, including a G7 meeting, discussions with Arab countries’ ambassadors, and meetings with foreign ministers from Canada and the USA. The focus will be on efforts to prevent conflict from widening in the Middle East.
