On Monday, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Armed Forces, Herzi Halevi, announced that Israel will retaliate against Iran’s recent attacks. Despite concerns about increased tensions in the region, Halevi emphasized that Israel will not let the launching of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones go unanswered.

Halevi spoke from the Nevatim air base and stated that Iran’s attack was an attempt to damage Israel’s strategic capabilities. He mentioned that Israel had been prepared for Operation ‘Iron Shield’ in order to intercept incoming projectiles.

After the attack on the air base, Halevi visited the Nevatim air base in the Negev desert to assess the damage caused by Iran’s drones. The Israeli Army confirmed that over 300 projectiles were launched during the attack, most of which were intercepted before causing any significant damage.

Iran has justified its attacks as a legitimate response and a form of self-defense after allegedly being bombed by Israel in Damascus. This incident resulted in seven deaths among members of Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The situation remains tense as both countries weigh their next steps in this ongoing conflict.
