Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, has announced her Small Business of the Week: The Cottage on Broadway in Denison. The Cottage is a small business run by mother and daughter duo, Cindy and Taylor Borkowski. They have turned their passion for home decor into a thriving business that has received recognition as the Best Boutique in Crawford County and has won the Innovators Award from the local Chamber and Development Council.
The Borkowskis purchased Your Treasure Chest home decor store in 2020 and reopened it as The Cottage on Broadway. They continue to sell quality home decor and also offer a selection of children, baby, seasonal, and devotional items. Their products are often showcased on their Facebook page. Co-founder Taylor also plays a role as a community leader and organizes Denison’s Hot Summer Nights series. This year marks the fourth business anniversary for The Cottage.
Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties. She congratulated The Cottage on their entrepreneurial dreams and creating a great community in Denison. The entire team at The Cottage was wished even more success at their new location.
