Sangbok Kim, a Teaching Professor of Korean in the College of Arts and Sciences, has been honored with the 2024 ASSETT Excellence in Teaching with Technology Award. This prestigious award is given to a faculty member who has demonstrated a proven record of excellence in incorporating technology into their teaching practices. Nominations for the award can come from peers or students, and awardees must show a strong commitment and leadership in advancing teaching and learning within the college.

The student-led committee that selected Professor Kim for this award was impressed by his innovative use of various technological tools such as shared OneDrive documents, AI, PIP Lang (which he helped develop), and other resources that enhance the learning experience both inside and outside of the classroom. One student who nominated him praised his ability to improve their learning experience by enabling better collaboration within the class and more efficient learning.

Professor Kim’s use of technology has greatly enhanced the learning experience for his students, allowing them to collaborate more effectively and learn more efficiently. The student expressed confidence that his methods will continue to evolve and benefit many more students in the future. Congratulations to Professor Sangbok Kim on this well-deserved recognition of his dedication to teaching with technology.
