Innovation on Display: Top 30 Scientific Breakthroughs Showcased in VnExpress’s Annual Competition

The 2024 Scientific Innovation contest, organized by VnExpress newspaper, received an impressive number of applicants this year. Out of the 135 applications, 124 entries made it to the qualifying round. A total of 30 solutions and products were selected to enter the final round. These entries were screened by a jury and received many votes from readers.

Among the finalists is POCYPOCY, an innovative application that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to block spam messages and fraudulent calls. Another product is multi-purpose construction materials made from industrial and agricultural waste, which have unique properties like fireproofing, soundproofing, and high bending strength.

The contest also features a range of creative projects such as a smart learning gateway for preschool students in mountainous areas, smart helmets for motorbikes and electric vehicles, and a highland warm water stove that utilizes excess heat from a wood stove to create hot water.

Other finalists include “green” concrete products that transmit light and have high strength, a solution to the plastic waste problem using biological enrichment, wind power generation equipment that combines TENG technology and vertical axis wind turbines.
