In recent days, the Israeli Army has carried out airstrikes on rocket launchers of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in a humanitarian area designated by the Israeli authorities themselves west of Khan Younis, in the south of the Strip of Gaza. According to reports, Air Force fighter planes carried out several attacks that destroyed three rocket launching points used by Hamas. The positions were located in the humanitarian area west of Khan Yunis and shots were fired from there towards Israel’s southern regions.

The attacks came after intelligence information and operational identifications were carried out by the Southern Command. Prior to the attack, IDF officials guaranteed evacuation and departure for citizens in the area without causing harm to those not involved. Although they have not specified where these attacks took place, it is believed that they targeted Al Mauasi.

Israeli military forces emphasized that these airstrikes were in response to rockets fired from this area targeting southern Israel. They also highlighted Hamas’ cynical and systematic exploitation of humanitarian facilities and spaces for terrorist objectives, using civilians as “human shields.”

On Sunday night, three projectiles launched from around Khan Younis hit open spaces in southern Israel with no reported casualties. The Israeli Air Force attacked and destroyed the position from which these launches were carried out, along with other terrorist structures nearby. Hamas has yet to make any comments on these latest attacks.

Israel launched its offensive against Gaza Strip following attacks carried out on October 7th by Hamas, resulting in casualties and hostages. The Gaza Ministry of Health reports over 33,100 deaths among Palestinians due to this conflict, alongside casualties caused by Israeli security forces’ actions in West Bank and East Jerusalem territories.
