Hutchinson 4th and 5th grade students are embarking on an exciting journey into the world of engineering with the help of a partnership with the PMHS Science Honor Society. Senior Sienna Giueseppi is leading an afterschool engineering clinic at the school, where she introduces students to the fundamentals of this fascinating field. During a session on March 21st, Sienna and her fellow high school students guided the younger students through designing, creating, and testing paper airplanes in order to find models that flew for the longest amount of time and traveled the greatest distance.

This hands-on learning experience is providing Hutchinson students with valuable skills and knowledge that they can use to pursue careers in engineering or related fields. Through projects like this afterschool engineering clinic, students are able to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build connections with older peers who can serve as mentors. Together, we are fostering a love of learning and sparking creativity in our school community.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to our high school students for bringing this innovative program to Hutchinson and for inspiring the next generation of engineers. This collaboration between PMHS and Hutchinson is creating a unique and enriching educational opportunity for all involved. By working together on projects like this one, we are helping to create a brighter future for our school community.
