To improve organization and privacy in WhatsApp conversations, users have the option to hide chats using the Chat Lock feature. This function allows users to block conversations and only access them with a secret code. By locking chats, users can prioritize messages and maintain privacy on both Android and iPhone devices. To read or send messages, users simply unlock chats with device authentication methods such as a passcode, Face ID, fingerprint, or a secret code they set.

Once chats are locked, they are stored in a separate Blocked Chats folder and the contact is hidden from view. Notifications from these private chats will also be discreet, displaying a generic message like “WhatsApp: 1 new message.” Users can set a unique password for added privacy on locked chats, different from their phone access code.

Another option for organizing chats is archiving them on WhatsApp, which allows users to store conversations out of sight. Archived chats can be easily accessed by clicking on the “Archived” option above the chats list. To unarchive a chat, users can select it from the archived chats folder and use the designated icon to move it back to the main window.

Additionally, users can choose to keep chats permanently archived even when new messages are received by enabling the “Keep chats archived” setting in the application settings. This feature ensures that archived chats remain hidden unless specifically accessed by the user. By following these steps, users can maintain privacy and organization in their WhatsApp conversations effectively.
