On February 18, the US House of Representatives voted 360 to 58 in favor of the 21st Century Power Based Peace Act. This bill includes $95 billion in military aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan.

Under this act, Ukraine will receive $60 billion in military aid, which will help replenish its supplies and finance ongoing military activities like training its military personnel. Taiwan will get $8.1 billion to enhance cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, which is crucial for maintaining peace and stability in the region. And Israel will receive $26.4 billion, including humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip.

The bill also includes provisions to compel ByteDance to sell TikTok. This move is aimed at addressing concerns about national security and data privacy issues associated with TikTok’s parent company, China.

Once approved by the House, this legislation will move to the Senate for approval before it can be signed by President Joe Biden. If signed into law, this act will significantly strengthen military alliances and provide much-needed support to these countries in the face of various threats. It is a crucial step towards ensuring peace and stability in the region and beyond.
