In recent news, Hillwood, a Perot-owned company located in Dallas, has acquired the Freeport Business Center in Irving near DFW Airport. This office park covers 34 acres and has a total of 383,000 square feet of office space, with a notable occupancy rate of 70%. Despite its high occupancy, the center is home to some of North Texas’ most prestigious tenants such as Boeing, Sirius XM, Northrop Grumman Corp., and Yardi Systems.

Hillwood’s acquisition of the Freeport portfolio was strategic and driven by the prime location and close proximity to DFW International Airport and major highways. This makes it an ideal destination for businesses looking for connectivity and access to a skilled workforce. The company’s presence in North Texas began with the development of Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport 35 years ago and has since expanded to include the development of AllianceTexas and played a significant role in the Victory Park area of Dallas anchored by the American Airlines Center.

“The decision to acquire the Freeport portfolio was driven by its prime location and close proximity to DFW International Airport and major highways,” said Steve Aldrich, senior vice president of Hillwood. “We are excited about this acquisition as it aligns with our ongoing efforts to acquire high-quality real estate in key areas of North Texas.”
