Two Helena breweries, Lewis and Clark Brewing Co. and Copper Furrow Brewing, achieved success at the 2024 World Beer Cup, one of the most esteemed beer competitions in the world. The event recognized brewing excellence from around the globe and was judged by a panel of 280 experts from 37 countries.

Lewis and Clark Brewing Co. received a gold medal for their Miner’s Gold Hefeweizen in the American Wheat Beer category. This beer is a tribute to the miners in Montana who searched tirelessly for gold in the region. Made with malted wheat and Montana-grown barley, it is a delicious and unique beer that honors the hard work of these brave men.

Copper Furrow Brewing secured a bronze medal for their Tmavé Pivo in the International Dark Lager category. This dark Czech lager features flavors of bread crust, caramel, and a hint of coffee roast in the finish. Crafted with heritage Vienna and black malt, it goes through an intensive brewing process using Cz Saaz hops, Budvar yeast, and natural carbonation to create a truly exceptional beer.

The World Beer Cup is known as “The Olympics of Beer” and celebrates both the art and science of brewing. It acknowledges brewing excellence from around the world and showcases some of the best beers available today. This year’s winners were determined based on taste tests conducted by expert judges who evaluated over 9,300 entries from 2,060 breweries across 50 countries. The award ceremony took place on April 24th at The Venetian in Las Vegas where winners were honored for their achievements in over 110 different beer-style categories.
