Cleveland, Tennessee will soon see a new healthcare provider in the form of Hamilton Health Care System. The nonprofit hospital announced its agreement to purchase Tennova Healthcare Cleveland for $160 million, with the aim of expanding its operations into Southeast Tennessee. Community Health Systems, which has been operating the Cleveland hospital under the Tennova name for nearly ten years, will sell all assets related to the hospital, including medical offices and subsidiaries.

Hamilton Health Care System’s CEO Jeff Myers spoke about the organization’s commitment to providing quality care to communities. As a not-for-profit and one of the few remaining independent health systems in the area, their primary focus is on improving healthcare access and services in Southeast Tennessee. By expanding into Cleveland, they hope to enhance the range of care options available to residents in the region.

The sale of Tennova Healthcare Cleveland is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2024 pending regulatory approvals. Hamilton Health Care System’s acquisition marks an exciting opportunity for both organizations and communities in Southeast Tennessee. With this expansion, Hamilton Health Care System continues its mission of providing exceptional healthcare services to local communities and improving overall health outcomes for residents in the region.
