Grand Mental Health is hosting a free mental health screening event on Monday, April 8 as part of their efforts to expand their outreach by partnering with nonprofits in the area. The agency will collaborate with Restore Hope Ministries to offer services, with behavioral health professionals on-site to screen for alcohol use, depression, and PTSD.
Kim James, Clinical Director at Grand Mental Health, emphasized the importance of early detection and intervention in mental health issues. She noted that individuals with chronic mental health conditions tend to die 25 years earlier than the general population, highlighting the significance of mental health screenings. James stressed that while there is often a stigma surrounding mental health, it is crucial to address this aspect of our well-being to improve our overall quality of life.
The free screenings will be available from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 8 at Restore Hope Ministries, located near Charles Page Boulevard and 25th West Avenue.
