Vermont Green FC was leading 1-0 against Carolina Core in the US Open Cup, but ultimately lost 2-1. In the first half, Vermont Green took the lead when Yaniv Bazini scored a penalty in the 28th minute. Goalkeeper Nathan Schnur made five important saves to keep his team ahead, but Carolina Core fought back in the second half.

Carolina Core’s Papa Ndoye scored a penalty to level the score at 1-1 in the 60th minute, followed by Joshua Rodriguez’s goal in the 70th minute. Vermont Green FC had several opportunities to equalize but were unable to do so, resulting in a 2-1 defeat.

After the game, head coach Adam Pfeifer expressed his appreciation for the support from the fans and the community. Despite the loss, he commended his team’s effort against a strong opponent and acknowledged the challenges they faced.
