The Baltimore Orioles have announced the call-up of top prospect Jackson Holliday from their Triple-A affiliate after a standout start to the season. Holliday, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, has been making waves with his impressive performance.

Following a strong spring training, Holliday returned to the Norfolk Tides for the start of the season and quickly made a name for himself with his solid numbers. In his first 10 games with the Tides, he hit .333/.482/.595 and recorded nine RBI and two home runs.

Orioles general manager Mike Elias expressed excitement about Holliday’s future, highlighting his potential to be among the best players in the league. The 20-year-old, who is the son of former MLB outfielder Matt Holliday, was drafted as a shortstop but has been playing second base in Norfolk.

With a 6-4 record, the Orioles are off to a solid start this season after winning more than 100 games last year for the first time in decades. Holliday is expected to join them on Wednesday as they continue their series against the Red Sox in Boston.
