Arora’s appointment as Member, Technology/Digital Communication Commission, formerly known as the Telecom Commission, effective April 1, 2024, marks a significant development within the Indian Department of Telecom (DOT). Arora brings extensive experience to her new role having previously served as Advisor, Licensing in the DOT and CGM, Telecom West Bengal from September 2021 to January 2024.

Arora’s career spans over 36 years and is characterized by academic excellence and notable achievements. She is a distinguished alumna of the 1986 batch of Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) and has had a successful career marked by exceptional leadership qualities. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication from Delhi College of Engineering, an MBA from the University of Queensland and an LLB from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University where she achieved top ranks. Additionally, she was in the Merit List for the Class X All India CBSE examination.

Throughout her career, Arora has showcased exceptional leadership qualities starting from securing the top position in her batch during her ITS training. She played a crucial role in restructuring Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) as the nodal Principal GM known for her dynamic, focused and empathetic leadership style.
