Four students from Edison Preparatory Schools in Tulsa are set to compete in The National Business Professionals of America Competition in Chicago next month. This is the first time in years that the school has sent students to this prestigious event, and the students have been working hard all year to prepare for it.

Colin Clingan, one of the competitors, is heading off to college next year and feels confident in his abilities thanks to the skills he has acquired through the Business Professionals of America club at Edison. He believes that the skills he has learned will give him an edge in college and help him further develop his abilities. Skills like creating resumes and websites will be valuable for students interested in careers in graphic design, entrepreneurship, computer programming, and more.

Jamarris Jenkins also qualified for the competition after winning first place at the state level. He emphasized the importance of attention to detail and problem-solving skills that he learned through the program. He said that these skills are crucial for tasks such as fixing spelling errors and formatting documents.

Avery Majors and Jesse Johnson are also participating in the national competition. They have dedicated themselves to learning as much as they can about business practices and problem-solving techniques through their involvement with Business Professionals of America at Edison Preparatory Schools. Regardless of their final placements in the competition, all four students understand that the skills they have acquired will be beneficial for their future success.

The National Business Professionals of America Competition kicks off on May 9th. Those interested in supporting these talented young people on their journey can reach out to richmich@tulsaschools.org or contact Somethinggoodnewson6@griffin.news if you have a positive story to share.
