In a surprising turn of events, former Detroit Lions cornerback Cameron Sutton has surrendered to law enforcement authorities after evading capture for several weeks. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced that the 29-year-old arrived at the jail in Tampa, Florida on Sunday night.

Following a domestic violence incident that occurred on March 7th, Sutton had fled the country and was wanted by law enforcement for domestic battery by strangulation. The sheriff emphasized that domestic violence has no place in society and that nobody is above the law. Despite his initial attempts to avoid capture, Sutton ultimately made the wise decision to turn himself in.

Sutton was initially released from the Lions team in March but had signed a lucrative contract with the team just a year ago. Although he played well during his time with the Lions, accumulating impressive stats in interceptions and pass deflections, he was due significant money in the upcoming season and was expected to play a key role in their defense. However, this incident has put his future with the team in doubt.
