LMH Health has announced the appointment of former Lawrence City Commissioner Rob Chestnut as their new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Chestnut, who has also been a member of LMH Health’s Board of Trustees for 12 years, will begin his new role on May 20.

Chestnut brings a wealth of experience to the position, having most recently served as the CFO of Evolution Research Group, a national clinical trials company managing sites in seven states. In this role, he was responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and overall financial management.

Chestnut is committed to promoting an environment of transparency and trust within the organization. He expressed his excitement about joining LMH Health and working with his colleagues to advocate for the health system in the community. His goal is to use his financial expertise to help the hospital achieve its mission and continue serving the community’s health needs.

The appointment of Chestnut comes after the termination of the hospital’s previous CFO, Mike Rogers, who was found to have hidden his criminal record during the hiring process. This incident led LMH Health to implement stricter background check procedures for new hires.

LMH Health President and CEO Russ Johnson expressed confidence in Chestnut’s hire, citing his commitment and passion for the hospital. Johnson believes that Chestnut’s years of financial experience with various organizations will be invaluable moving forward. The hospital is looking forward to Chestnut’s contributions as they continue to serve the community’s health needs.
