A FIFA report has revealed that Brazil’s bid for the 2027 Women’s World Cup was evaluated higher than Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The FIFA Congress will vote on the bids on May 17 in Bangkok, marking the first time a formal vote will determine the tournament’s hosts.

Brazil’s technical evaluation received a score of 4.0 out of 5, while the European joint bid scored a 3.7. Both bids exceeded the minimum hosting requirements as determined by the bid evaluation task force.

However, South Africa and Mexico have shifted their sights toward hosting the 2031 tournament instead of Brazil, leaving only Germany and Brazil to compete for hosting rights for 2027. The United States previously hosted the Women’s World Cup in 2011 and Australia and New Zealand co-hosted it in 2023 marking first time two nations co-hosted this event.
