Erie County Community Health Center, the only comprehensive Federally Qualified Health Center in the tri-county area of Erie, Huron, and Ottawa counties, has received $4,334,730 in funding from the Health Resources and Services Agency (HRSA). This funding will help improve the health and well-being of residents in these counties by supporting primary care, dental, and mental health services offered at the Health Center’s eight sites throughout the region.

The Erie County Health Department/Erie County Community Health Center is one of 160 programs nationwide that have received funding through the Service Area Competition. The three-year funding period will run from June 2024 to May 2027.

Federally Qualified Health Centers play a crucial role in public health infrastructure by ensuring continued access to high-quality primary health care services for underserved communities. According to Erie County Health Commissioner Pete Schade, this funding will help improve the health and well-being of residents in Erie, Huron, and Ottawa counties.
