In a surprising move, the Atlanta Falcons announced on Thursday that they had signed cornerback Antonio Hamilton Sr. Hamilton, who had previously played for the Arizona Cardinals for three seasons, is now the third defensive player to be signed by the Falcons in free agency, joining Eddie Goldman and Kentavius Street. Additionally, they have re-signed Nate Landman.

Hamilton began his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He then moved on to play for the New York Giants from 2018-19 and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 before ending up with the Cardinals. Throughout his eight-year career, Hamilton has accumulated 172 tackles, 25 passes defended, and two interceptions in 98 games with 18 starts.

The Falcons’ defense is shaping up to be a formidable force next season with Hamilton’s addition. With his impressive statistics and experience playing at a high level, he will be a valuable asset to the team’s secondary. The signing of Hamilton also indicates that the Falcons are looking to strengthen their defense and compete for a playoff spot next year.
