On Wednesday, September 4, at the 2024 APSA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, you are invited to attend a Comparative & Multi-Method Approaches workshop. Co-Leaders will guide early career researchers in exploring the application of mixed methods to political economy questions.

During this workshop, participants will learn how to use multiple methodologies to investigate key political economy issues such as redistribution, democratization, economic policy, unionization, and social policy. The goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of variation in democratic policy and politics across different countries.

If you are using two or more research methods in your thesis and would like to discuss how your work fits into your broader dissertation, we encourage you to apply. Research on any area within political economy and any geographic focus is welcome. This workshop is part of APSA’s annual sponsorship of in-person and virtual dissertation workshops. In-person events take place the Wednesday before the Annual Meeting, while virtual workshops occur over a three-week period in the summer. Each workshop includes presentations from six PhD candidates and is led by two faculty members who facilitate discussions. Apply by May 19, 2024, for a chance to participate in this exciting research opportunity.
