Climate and Health Day, part of the US Climate Action Summit, is being co-hosted by the National Academy of Medicine in partnership with Kaiser Permanente and the Climate Group. The public program for the event will feature four panels exploring various aspects of climate change and its impact on health, as well as opportunities for collaboration across sectors for mitigation and adaptation.

The objectives of the public program are to examine the effects of climate change on health, including risks, impacts, and equitable solutions; showcase ways to develop climate-resilient communities; and investigate opportunities for collaboration across sectors.

In addition to the public program, Climate and Health Day will also launch a new initiative from the National Academy of Medicine called “Accelerating the National Climate and Health Movement.” This initiative aims to build on and sustain the growing number of health sector organizations addressing climate and health issues throughout the country.

The agenda for Climate and Health Day includes several highlights, including a special panel of global health leaders at 12:40 pm, followed by Panel 1: Special Panel of Global Health Leaders at 12:40 pm. At 2:20 pm, there will be Panel 2: Climate Change & Health: Understanding Risks, Impacts, & Equitable Solutions. Panel 3: Synergistic Approaches in Climate, Health, and Equity Initiatives will take place at 3:20 pm, with Resilient Climate & Health Communities: Climate-proofing Health Care taking place at 4:10 pm.
