Dallas’ Small Business Center is set to launch its Mentor Protégé Program (MPP) on May 2, 2024. The initiative aims to support the growth of local Minority and Women-Owned Businesses (M/WBE) by fostering partnerships and enhancing the success of small businesses in the Dallas area.

Through the program, participants will have access to one-on-one mentoring, workshops, training sessions, and networking opportunities. Financial stable mentors, including Prime Contractors with contracts in the City of Dallas, who have been in business for 1-3 years and are willing to provide guidance will be involved. On the other hand, Emerging Protégé Businesses will consist of M/WBE certified small business owners looking to enhance their financial capacity to secure contracting opportunities.

Interested parties can find applications for the next cohort at the Small Business Mentor Protégé Program – Source Dallas. The Director of the Small Business Center, Joyce Williams, emphasized the importance of collaboration between seasoned businesses (mentors) and smaller enterprises (protégés) to help them excel as prime contractors or subcontractors in various contracting opportunities.
