On March 26, the Women in Medicine and Science Forum will be held at the O’Hara Student Center from 3 to 5:30 p.m. This event is open to everyone and aims to celebrate and showcase the accomplishments of women in medicine and science at the University. It provides a platform for women to share their strengths, talents, and experiences while fostering an academic environment that supports the personal and professional growth of female students, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and faculty members in medicine and science.

The forum will feature Susan Fullerton, an associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering who also serves as the vice chair for graduate education in her department. She will discuss how the imposter syndrome can actually be beneficial when understood and viewed in the right perspective. Fullerton encourages attendees to recognize these feelings, understand them, and learn how to leverage them for their advantage.

This insightful event is made possible by several offices on campus including the Office of Academic Career Development, the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor, Health Sciences, and the Office of the Provost. Interested individuals can register for this event to attend and benefit from Fullerton’s insights on using imposter syndrome for career success.
