The Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, is set to speak with nearly 500 businessmen at the Stock Exchange on Monday at 6 p.m. This meeting, organized by the Mediterránea Foundation, a think tank founded by Domingo Cavallo in 1977, will be coordinated by Juan Ignacio Abuchdid and Osvaldo Giordano will also participate.

Despite there being no specific agenda for the talk, businessmen are eagerly anticipating insights on the economic plan. Recently, Caputo announced sectoral measures like tariff reductions for imports in key industries. However, there is still uncertainty surrounding the economic recovery and the exit strategy from the current recession.

Furthermore, there are expectations regarding the Bases Law, which will soon begin discussions and includes provisions for privatizations, State reform, and labor reform. Businessmen hope for progress but emphasize the need for legislative action rather than rule by decree.

In a related context, Milei has promised to lift restrictions on stocks as soon as possible but did not specify a timeline due to various economic factors. The minister’s team is focusing on advancing fiscal surplus as a priority. Businessmen will also reaffirm their support for the Bases Law, which they believe will provide a framework for sustainable economic growth.

Overall, this meeting with Caputo is expected to shed light on the government’s economic direction and provide clarity on key policy issues affecting businesses and the economy.
