Ramesh Sidambi, the current head of operations at Dubai Duty Free, has been named as the new CEO starting June 1, 2024. He will take over from Colm McLoughlin, Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free, who has announced his retirement after 55 years of service in the travel retail sector.

Colm McLoughlin expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Dubai Duty Free, and the entire team for their support throughout his career. He believes that Dubai Duty Free will continue to thrive under the leadership of Ramesh and Salah Tahlak, who will assume the role of Executive Vice President at Dubai Duty Free.

During his tenure, Colm McLoughlin oversaw significant growth at Dubai Duty Free, with revenues increasing from US$20 million in 1984 to US$2.16 billion in 2023. He received numerous awards for his contributions to the travel retail industry and Dubai Duty Free’s success. As a respected leader in the sector, McLaughlin has left a lasting impact on the organization and its employees.
