The excitement at Texas Motor Speedway is palpable as two national NASCAR series get ready to race on Friday afternoon. The Craftsman Truck Series teams will be practicing, qualifying, and racing at the 1.5-mile track, while the Xfinity teams will be doing the same ahead of their race on Saturday.

The Truck Series has a rich history at Texas Motor Speedway, with multiple drivers vying for victory in this year’s race. Last season saw Carson Hocevar take home the win after a thrilling last-lap contact with Nick Sanchez. However, Hocevar will not be returning to defend his title, leaving the door wide open for other drivers to claim victory.

Meanwhile, Cup drivers are also preparing for their upcoming races and discussing what they want from their NASCAR crew chiefs. Johnny Sauter and Kyle Busch are both making their returns to the series, with Sauter joining Niece Motorsports and Busch returning to Spire Motorsports. Two-time Texas winner Matt Crafton and 2022 winner Stewart Friesen are also set to continue their full-time seasons as they aim to return to the playoffs.

The Friday schedule at Texas Motor Speedway includes practice and qualifying sessions for both the Truck and Xfinity Series, followed by the Truck Series race consisting of 167 laps covering 250.5 miles. With mostly sunny skies and no chance of rain at the start of the race, fans can look forward to an exciting day of practice, qualifying, and racing from some of the best drivers in NASCAR.
