On March 27, Discovery World on Market celebrated its one-year anniversary with its 60,000th visitor. The museum surpassed expectations and initially projected to see 20,000 to 30,000 visitors in its first year. The lucky 60,000th visitor was surprised with music, blow-horns, free admission and applause from the staff.

Discovery World will host a formal celebration on Saturday, April 27 from 2-4 p.m., in conjunction with Izzy’s birthday at the museum. Additionally, on Friday, Discovery World will immerse children in STEM themes during Izzy’s Kids Club which is focusing this month on the science behind superheroes. Earth Celebration Day is set for April 21 with activities involving the Wood County Solid Waste Authority and the Forestry Service.

Registration for Discovery World’s Summer STEM camps is now open on their website. The museum will also host its first Imagination Gala on June 8 which is a VIP fundraiser to support their mission of inspiring children through hands-on STEAM learning. Corporate tables and individual tickets for the gala can be purchased online at the Discovery World website. Tables for eight people are $1,000 while tables for six are $750; individual tickets are $80 and couple tickets are $150.
