The Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD), the Tahoe STEM Academy, and Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) are joining hands to host a community event called Discovery Night. This event, which will take place on Tuesday, May 14 from 5:30-7 p.m. at South Tahoe Middle School, is aimed at promoting STEM exploration for K-12 students and their families.

Discovery Night will offer an evening of excitement, learning, and fun for all ages. Visitors can expect interactive activities, tinkering exhibits, and robotics displays that will spark their curiosity about science and technology.

Adam Eynon, the Director of Dual Enrollment at LTCC, emphasized the importance of nurturing an early interest in STEM subjects. By providing a space for families to come together and explore, Discovery Night aims to ignite a passion for science and discovery in young minds.

LTCC’s TRiO, HSI, and Dual Enrollment departments are all proud to support this initiative. With a focus on expanding STEM offerings in dual enrollment, LTCC is dedicated to offering students access to high-quality STEM education that prepares them for future careers in technology and engineering.

Collaborating with LTUSD and Tahoe STEM Academy, LTCC is thrilled to bring Discovery Night to life. The event aligns perfectly with their mission to enhance STEM education opportunities in the community by providing accessible resources that inspire curiosity and creativity among students of all ages.

Families with students from kindergarten to 12th grade are encouraged to attend Discovery Night and take part in this immersive learning experience that promises food, games, raffle prizes, and a rich exploration of STEM concepts.
