The University of Idaho’s College of Science is hosting a two-day science event, Vandal Science Days, starting today until Saturday April 20th. This event is open to the public of all ages and offers hands-on experimenting opportunities. Located at the Integrated Research and Innovation Center on campus, the event will run from 10 am to 3 pm both days.

Vandal Science Days provides participants with the chance to listen to presentations from professors on various topics such as arsenic usage in beauty products and learn about the science programs available at U of I. Attendees can also engage in hands-on science activities like fossil digs, comet making, and virtual realities for sustainable futures.

Cindy Barnhart from the College of Science’s Communication and Marketing department stated that this event coincides with Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. This allows attendees to explore how science and music can complement each other. Additionally, prospective U of I science students have a chance to win a $500 college of science scholarship at Vandal Science Days.

Barnhart encourages everyone to attend this event as it is an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to learn about science in an interactive way. “This event is a great way for people to see firsthand what we do here at U of I’s College of Science,” she said.
