She underwent the procedure at a spa owned by an acquaintance, but soon after, she developed pain at the injection site and signs of malnutrition in various areas of her face. Despite receiving dissolving medicine at the spa, her condition did not improve, and more blisters appeared.
Upon arriving at the National Dermatology Hospital four days later, the patient was diagnosed with embolic complications from incorrect injection techniques by an untrained individual. Dr. Ta Thi Ha Phuong from the Department of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation noted that the patient required antibiotic treatment, on-site care, and psychological support, anticipating potential medical sequelae.
