Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has a long-standing reputation for striving to be the best in everything he does. However, his personnel decisions throughout his time with the Cowboys may suggest otherwise to some observers. Despite Jones’ desire to be at the top of the NFL, he has consistently fallen short over the years, leading him to be ranked second in a different category.

Recently, Forbes released its list of the richest people in the world, including a category for sports. In this particular list, Jones was surpassed by Stanley Kroenke, the owner of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, which controls various sports franchises such as Arsenal F.C., the Los Angeles Rams, the Denver Nuggets, and the Colorado Avalanche. While Kroenke’s sports portfolio is vastly more diverse than Jones’ – consisting of multiple franchises across different sports – it’s still somewhat surprising that he managed to claim the top spot on the list given that he owns only one team. Nevertheless, this second-place ranking likely doesn’t sit well with Jones.

Kroenke holds the No. 115 spot on the list with a net worth of $16.2 billion, while Jones follows at No. 137 with a net worth of $13.3 billion. Other NFL team owners like Robert Kraft of the New England Patriots and Arthur Smith of the Atlanta Falcons also feature on the list with significant net worth values.
