Cryptocurrency sites are being promoted through fake news articles and fabricated interviews with celebrities on social media. These false articles use the logos of reputable press organizations to deceive internet users. They create sensational stories involving well-known personalities like Vincent Cassel, Francis Cabrel, Cyril Lignac, Élise Lucet, and Jamel Debbouze to attract attention.

For example, a fake article depicts Jamel Debbouze being handcuffed by Australian police, which is actually a manipulated image from a protest in Sydney. The article claims to reveal a secret to getting rich online that Jamel Debbouze shared on a TV show in 2017, leading to legal trouble with the Bank of France. However, these statements are completely fabricated, and Jamel Debbouze did not make such comments.

These misleading ads target users on social media platforms like Facebook, using deceptive tactics to drive traffic to cryptocurrency sites. Meta, a major player in digital advertising, requires advertisers to pay for sponsored content that violates its policies. This deceptive practice can mislead users and potentially expose them to cybercriminals.

In response to these misleading posts, journalist Élise Lucet warned her followers to be cautious of promotions for cryptocurrency sites. The Le Monde group plans to take legal action against those responsible for digital identity theft and trademark counterfeiting. Internet users have expressed frustration over the prevalence of these deceptive ads in their news feeds, with some calling it harassment.

The spread of fake news and false advertisements on social media underscores the importance of being vigilant and critical of the content we engage with online. Misinformation can have serious consequences
