A man from the Creek Nation is currently in jail after being accused of brandishing a gun at a security guard at a local business overnight, according to police reports. The incident occurred at the B&S Muffler shop near 26th and Sheridan.
The security guard contacted the police after the man allegedly pulled out a gun and started shooting at him while he was seated in his vehicle in the parking lot. Despite the suspect firing several shots, the security guard managed to drive away unharmed.
When the police arrived on the scene, they spotted a man matching the suspect’s description fleeing in an alley. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect at a nearby apartment complex. While shell casings and a magazine were recovered at the site, a gun was not initially found.
In an effort to locate the weapon, firefighters assisted by providing a ladder to search nearby rooftops. Eventually, the gun was discovered and taken into evidence by police officials. The suspect appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was taken to a hospital for evaluation before being transported to jail. Authorities have not disclosed any further details about the suspect or his criminal history, but have stated that he is currently being held at Tulsa County Jail pending further investigation.
