The Courier Journal’s boys athlete of the week nominees have showcased their talent on the baseball diamonds and lacrosse fields. Voting is currently open for this prestigious award, with the poll set to close at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The winner will be announced on Friday. Kyle Campbell from Trinity had an impressive week in baseball, with five hits, one RBI, three stolen bases, and two walks in wins against Highlands Latin, St. Xavier, and Southern. Sekayi Charasika from Kentucky Country Day also made the list with five goals and two assists in a 19-17 win over Eastern in lacrosse.

In baseball, Ryan Eubanks from Eastern had a standout week with five hits, five RBIs, and two walks in games against Southern, Christian Academy, and Bullitt Central. DeSales junior Cole Thompson struck out 13 batters in a 10-0 win over Christian Educational Consortium and also contributed three hits, one RBI, a stolen base, and a walk against Christian Educational Consortium and Male.
