In the midst of uncertainty, it is crucial for citizens to be informed that Corina Yoris, the presidential candidate proposed by the Unity Table, has not been able to be registered. The Democratic Unity Platform (PUD) is continuously evaluating, discussing, and making decisions regarding this matter. The leader of the PUD stated that they will act responsibly towards the country. Delsa Solrzano, a former primary candidate close to Mara Corina Machado, is also involved in these discussions.

The country is on edge due to the latest revolutionary threats, and the Democratic Unity Table has requested an extension of 72 hours for the registration period from the National Electoral Council (CNE) due to violations in the process. The opposition parties have not been able to access the CNE’s digital registry to register Corina Yoris, who has been chosen as a consensus candidate to replace Machado.

The government has blocked Yoris’s registration, adding another challenge faced by the opposition against Chavismo’s electoral authoritarianism. The ruling party is not looking for a viable candidate but rather one that they can control to ensure their victory in the upcoming elections. Maria Corina Machado, who leads in the polls, is also facing pressure to step aside.
