The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has recently approved a 30-year lease for Mayo Clinic Health System to occupy integrated research workspace in the new Science and Health Sciences Building at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Construction on the state-of-the-art Science and Health Sciences Building is set to begin this summer. The 330,000-square-foot building will replace the outdated Phillips Hall and provide space for multiple academic programs including biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, geography and anthropology, geology and environmental science, public health and environmental studies, neuroscience, materials science and biomedical engineering, physics and astronomy, and nursing.
Mayo Clinic Health System has committed $13.7 million to the project and will occupy 10,000 square feet of research, instructional, office, and meeting space within the building. The collaboration between Mayo Clinic Health System and UW-Eau Claire in the new research workspace is expected to enhance research and educational opportunities for students and faculty.
