In Arlington, Texas, the Texas Rangers celebrated their first World Series win by handing out championship rings to approximately 60 members of the organization before their game against the Chicago Cubs. The rings were designed by Jason of Beverly Hills and symbolize the team’s six-game triumph over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the previous fall.
During a team dinner the night before, Chris Young, lead baseball executive of the Rangers, revealed the rings to the players. The design features blue sapphires, red rubies, and diamonds arranged in the shape of the Rangers’ “T” logo. This is the first time that Jason of Beverly Hills created World Series title rings. The rings also include a piece of leather from a baseball used in one of the games during the World Series.
Second baseman Marcus Semien expressed his emotions when he saw the rings, recognizing the hard work that went into winning the championship. The rings symbolize the team’s 103 total victories in regular season and playoffs and set a new standard for championship rings according to Chris Young. For manager Bruce Bochy, who now has four World Series rings in his career, this new jewelry represents another milestone in his career. He jokingly mentioned trying to wear all four rings on one finger at some point, highlighting its significance for him personally and for his teammates as well.
