In Detroit, the Health Department and Police Department, along with community partners and recreation centers, are coming together once again to host Public Health Week. The theme for this year is “Centering and Celebrating Culture in Health.”
The aim of Public Health Week is to highlight the valuable services provided by public health to residents. During the event, various health screenings and activities will be offered, including checks for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and kidney function, as well as HIV and syphilis testing, fitness classes, CPR training, Narcan training and kit distribution, mental health makeovers, lead screenings
