Tian drew inspiration for his translation technology from the science-fiction novel “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams. One of the unique alien innovations in the story is the “Babel Fish,” which automatically translates alien speech into a language the user can understand when it crawls into their ear.

Inspired by the Babel Fish, Tian and his team aimed to create a device that allows individuals from different countries to communicate effortlessly, maintaining eye contact and body language as if they were speaking in their native tongue. They wanted to develop a standalone device that could be easily activated for seamless translation between languages.

The X1 translation technology operates similarly to the Babel Fish, using earpieces that connect to a central device as well as to other devices for networking. With X1 earpieces, a group of people can communicate in their own language, even if everyone is speaking a different one.

Tian emphasized the importance of this new technology, which would revolutionize communication like in science fiction. He believes that it will help break down barriers between cultures and promote understanding and tolerance among different communities.
