In Huntsville, Alabama, the Marshall Space Flight Center recently hosted its 37th Small Business Alliance Meeting. This event brought together leaders from both large and small businesses in North Alabama to celebrate the resurgence of space exploration. The meeting was attended by around 800 people who had the opportunity to network and connect with authorities from larger companies in the aerospace industry.

During the meeting, participants learned about future acquisitions and developments in the Space World, with a specific focus on returning to the moon and eventually reaching Mars. David Brock from the Office of Procurement emphasized the importance of these networking opportunities between large and small businesses. He highlighted the need for smaller companies to develop their capabilities and be prepared to support programs like the space launch system rocket program and human landing system.

Brock explained that in order to be successful in these ambitious space programs, there needs to be a strong pipeline of small business capabilities that can step up and contribute to achieving the objectives set by larger companies. He mentioned that thanks to these new programs, the Marshall Space Flight Center has been able to make significant contributions to the Huntsville community.
