Teen Night Out 2024, an event hosted by Hope Means Nevada and The Children’s Cabinet, will take place on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Discovery Museum’s Mind Matters Exhibit. The event aims to raise awareness about mental health resources for teens and create a supportive environment for those struggling with mental health challenges.

Co-chair Addison Clark highlighted the importance of understanding that there are organizations dedicated to helping teens who are struggling with mental health issues during the 4th statewide youth mental health discussion held in Reno, Nevada. She emphasized the challenges many teens face in balancing school, social life, and mental health and urged the use of tools and resources designed to help them navigate these difficulties.

Sydney Menante, Co-chair of the Teen Committee for Hope Means Nevada, expressed her personal experience with a childhood friend’s suicide and became a vocal advocate for mental health within schools. She emphasized the importance of destigmatizing mental health and reaching out to teens to provide them with resources they need to prioritize their well-being.

The discussion also touched on teen isolation, which was highlighted by Clark as one of the key issues that need attention. By coming together to address these issues and raise awareness, Hope Means Nevada and its partners aim to create a supportive environment where teens can reach out for help when needed without fear of judgment or stigma.
